How We Publish
What we publish, how we source it, who we are, and what we do when we get something wrong.
What we publish
Location research. The atlas, the map and the regional guides match places in GTA VI to real places in Miami and Florida. Each match carries a rating and its sources. The rating scale is explained on the methodology page.
A news digest. The Newswire summarizes GTA VI news with a Miami angle. The summaries are written by Miami GTA Tours. Each item links to the original reporting and names the outlet that published it.
Original Miami reporting. When we publish our own reporting about GTA VI in Miami, it follows the same standards as the rest of this page.
Sourcing standards
Official material from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive is the primary source: the trailers (with timestamps), the Extended Look, Rockstar's screenshots and the copy on rockstargames.com/VI. After that come press comparisons from Miami and games media, and community mapping from the GTA Wiki and GTA VI Landmarks Data.
Each news item links to its source. Each location page lists its sources. News items carry a tag that says where the claim comes from: Official (Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive), Press, or Community.
Claims that rest only on the 2022 leak are excluded. Community theories with no clear visual match are listed so readers know what is being discussed, and they are labelled as fan theories.
How match ratings can change
Ratings follow the evidence, and the evidence changes. If Rockstar publishes new material, if a second independent source documents a match, or if a source we relied on turns out to be wrong, the rating on the location page is updated to fit the standard on the methodology page. Real places change too: where a matched building has been demolished or a road has closed, the location page says so.
Independence and ownership
Miami GTA Tours is an independent Miami sightseeing company and fan destination. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
We sell our own guided Slingshot and golf cart tours of the real places featured in GTA VI. That is our commercial interest in the subject, and it is why this site exists. You can see the tours and prices on the tours page.
Images
In-game images are frames from official trailers and official screenshots, © Rockstar Games, shown for commentary and comparison. Real-world photos come from Wikimedia Commons, with the photographer and license credited where the photo is shown. Illustrations of our tours and regions are our own artwork, made in the style of GTA VI's key art. Where a location page shows our own rendering of a place, the caption reads "Vice City rebuild of" followed by the real place and "by Miami GTA Tours".
